Seeking Machine Knitters to test a new MK pattern...
Are you in need of a cute wardrobe staple? Looking for a fun knit with an unusual construction? Dying to try out cotton/wool Coast Yarn from Holst? Happy to provide constructive feedback (both good AND bad!)? Read on!

The Costa Pullover is a sideways knit, one-piece construction that finishes at high hip. The fitted silhouette is juxtaposed against playful, voluminous ¾ length sleeves that take shape through a series of short rows. You begin knitting the sweater at center back, working your way around until you reach the center back again. 1x1 rib trim is added to the cuffs, hem and neckline. It all comes together with a pronounced center back seam.

The sweater has been designed to be worn with 0-2" of positive ease at the bust, and plenty of positive ease at the upper arm. Measure your bust, and go from there. The written pattern includes 8 sizes (1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)), with a finished bust measurement (B) of 31 (34, 37, 40, 43, 46, 49, 52) inches; 79cm (86, 94, 102, 109, 117, 124, 132) cm

Although designed to be knit using 2-ply 55% Merino Lambswool and 45% Cotton Coast from Holst Garn, yarn substitutions are welcome!! My only ask is that you select a yarn that gives the same (or very close to the) finished, blocked gauge dimensions as written in the pattern (28 stitches and 43 rows over 4” (10cm) in stockinette).

Ideally, I'd like the testers to have the sweaters complete by May 14, 2023. I will select test knitters of different skill levels who are also able to cover a range of sizes. Once the testers are in place, we'll have a private test group for participants to post questions, yarn choices, progress photos, etc.

If this project strikes your fancy, and you've got a standard gauge machine + ribber, please fill out this Google Form, which will remain open until Sunday, April 9, 2023. Email notification and a copy of the pattern sent out on the following day. (Please kindly note that test knitters are volunteers and I am unable to provide discounts on yarn.)

Be well and happy machine knitting!!
