This one-of-a-kind, handmade sweater is one part marinière and one part ornnamental frill. The conventional striped layout in an unconventional color palette with 2" wide ruffles at the shoulder.
This unique combination of natural fibers in this yarn creates a fabric that is lightweight and lustrous. Equal percentages of fine Merino Wool and Tussah silk are joined to create a truly elegant yarn.
Because wool and silk accept dyes differently, the fabric made from this yarn may have a slightly “tweedy” look and you may find the occasional silk nep.
Check out a few of the knitterly details:
1. Long sleeves with wide, doubled cuffs
2. Slight waist shaping with a wide doubled hemline
3. Double layered ruffles, stand proud where the sleeves join the body
4. A comfortable, open neckline
This is an amazing year round sweater, and particularly perfect in the spring and fall!
Please note that this sweater has rather long sleeves, and a somewhat cropped length. This styling is intentional.
I love to knit and I knit A LOT of sweaters - more than I could ever dream of wearing. Each sweater is one-of-a-kind and was, more or less, knit to my dimensions.
